Welcome to AOWA Organization

The Afghanistan Organization Women Arise (AOWA) expresses its profound concern and deep sorrow over the devastating and unprecedented floods that have struck Ghor Province during the past two days, particularly in Marghab, Charsada, and Al-Farooq districts. We consider this disaster a serious humanitarian and livelihood crisis.

These destructive floods have not only washed away vast agricultural lands, but have also caused the death of large numbers of livestock, destruction of household assets, collapse of family income sources, and severe financial losses for the residents of these affected communities. Families who were already struggling with poverty, unemployment, and economic hardship are now facing yet another unbearable crisis.

Today, the people of Ghor need attention, compassion, and immediate practical support more than ever before. Remaining silent in the face of such extensive devastation means ignoring the suffering of thousands of women, men, and children whose livelihoods and hopes have been buried beneath the mud and floodwaters.

The Afghanistan Women Arise Organization urgently appeals to all national and international organizations, humanitarian agencies, responsible authorities, generous donors, and conscientious individuals to prioritize this tragedy and take swift action for emergency assessment and immediate humanitarian response. The affected communities are in urgent need of food assistance, temporary shelter, livestock protection, and compensation for agricultural losses.

This is not a time for observation; this is a time for solidarity and action.
Standing with the people of Ghor means standing with families who, with the fewest resources, are facing one of the heaviest disasters of their lives.
Let us not allow their cries for help to be lost in the noise of indifference.
