12 August – International Youth Day
Young people are among the most dynamic, creative, and promising forces for shaping the future. Every society that invests in the education, development, empowerment, and participation of young people is, in reality, investing in its own future.
Young people in Afghanistan, despite facing various challenges, possess significant potential, talent, energy, and creativity. They can play an important role in strengthening their families and communities. Providing opportunities for education, skills development, social participation, and personal growth can help create the foundation for a stronger and better future.
Afghanistan Organization Women Arise (AOWA) believes that young people should not be viewed only as the “future generation”; they are also an important force for positive change today. Listening to young people’s perspectives, strengthening their skills, and creating opportunities for meaningful participation can contribute to better solutions to the challenges facing communities.
Education, skills development, health, social participation, and access to appropriate opportunities for growth are among the important factors that can strengthen young people’s potential. A young person who has knowledge, skills, and opportunities to participate can contribute positively not only to their own future, but also to their family and community.
On International Youth Day, AOWA emphasizes the importance of education, empowerment, participation, and creating better opportunities for young people. We believe that a better future can be built through young people who are informed, capable, active, and responsible.
Let us give young people the opportunity to learn, grow, participate, and shape their own future.
Young people today are the builders of a better tomorrow.
