Welcome to AOWA Organization

Awareness is one of the important foundations of individual and social development. An informed person can better understand their needs, distinguish reliable information from misinformation, and make more thoughtful decisions about life. For this reason, increasing awareness can be a first step towards positive change in individuals and communities.

Awareness is not limited to having information; understanding information correctly and using it responsibly are equally important. Health awareness can help people prevent illness and take better care of their health. Awareness of education and children’s rights can help families provide better support to their children, while information about economic opportunities and new skills can help people make better use of their existing capacities.

In many situations, accurate and timely information can prevent a wrong decision. Awareness of risks, rights, responsibilities, and ways to access appropriate services can help people respond to different situations with greater knowledge and responsibility. This is particularly important for children, women, young people, and families facing difficult circumstances.

Families and communities also have an important role in increasing awareness. Dialogue, sharing experiences, learning, and access to reliable information sources can strengthen a culture of learning and awareness. When people in a community share useful information with one another, awareness goes beyond the individual level and becomes a shared community capacity.

Today, access to information is easier than ever, but not all information is necessarily accurate or reliable. Therefore, the ability to assess sources, compare information, and use trustworthy sources is an important part of being informed. People should, as far as possible, verify information before accepting or sharing it with others.

Afghanistan Organization Women Arise (AOWA) considers awareness and education important factors in empowering individuals and communities and emphasizes the importance of access to useful and reliable information. Increasing awareness can create opportunities for greater participation, better decision-making, and positive and sustainable changes in communities.

Change does not always begin with major actions; sometimes one accurate piece of information, a new understanding, and an informed decision can be the beginning of a great change.
