Recently, the Afghanistan Organization Women Arise (AOWA) held a community gathering in Ghor province to connect with local residents and discuss important issues that affect daily life. The event brought together men, women, and community leaders in an open and welcoming environment.
Our team, dressed in the recognizable AOWA blue vests, engaged with participants on a variety of topics, including education, social development, health, and agriculture. These areas form the backbone of our mission to empower communities and create opportunities for a better future.
- Education: We continue to raise awareness about the importance of schooling for both boys and girls, while also working to provide training programs for youth and women who seek new skills.
- Social Development: Creating spaces for dialogue and women’s empowerment remains a top priority, ensuring that every voice in the community has the chance to be heard.
- Health: Our outreach includes health awareness sessions, maternal and child care support, and the promotion of better hygiene practices to strengthen community well-being.
- Agriculture: Since many families in Ghor rely on farming, we share knowledge on sustainable farming methods, water management, and modern techniques that can improve both harvests and livelihoods.
Events like this are at the heart of AOWA’s work. By listening to communities and working side by side with them, we aim to build a foundation of resilience, opportunity, and hope.
